OUR COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY

MyHelper (Pty) Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and their employees, while developing technology that empowers domestic worker employers to manage payroll and compliance safely and effectively.

All data handling and storage by MyHelper is fully compliant with, and often exceeds, the requirements set out in the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

We are committed to helping you uphold your legal responsibilities and your employees' rights with respect to personal information.

GUIDING PRIVACY PRINCIPLES

Our privacy practices are guided by the following key principles:

• Processing Limitation – We only process the personal data you provide for the purposes for which it was given.
• Accuracy – We make it easy for you to update your information at any time.
• Data Minimisation – We retain only the minimum data needed to provide our services and will anonymise or delete data that is no longer required.
• Openness – We operate transparently and are happy to explain how we use your data.
• Consent – We will not perform additional processing of your information without your explicit consent, unless required by law.
• Confidentiality – Your information is handled with the highest level of discretion and security.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

You, the employer, collect personal information from your employees and input it into MyHelper's platform to fulfil payroll, UIF, and contract obligations. By entering this information, it is assumed that you have obtained proper authorisation or consent from the employee.

We collect:

• Personally identifiable information (e.g., name, ID number, address, email, phone number)
• Employment information (e.g., salary, leave, UIF status, job start date)
• Bank details for salary payments
• Browser and device information (e.g., IP address, browser type, session times)

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We process this data to:

• Generate and manage payslips
• Submit UIF declarations
• Draft compliant employment contracts
• Monitor and manage leave records
• Support you in meeting your employer obligations

We may also contact you from time to time for customer feedback or to notify you of important service updates.

We do notprocess sensitive personal information (such as race or religion) without your or your employee's explicit consent, unless required by law.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We will only disclose data if:

• Required by law or a lawful order
• Needed to enforce our Terms of Service
• Necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyHelper, our customers, or others
• The business is merged or acquired, in which case reasonable notice will be given

SECURITY AND STORAGE OF INFORMATION

We store your data on encrypted servers hosted securely by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in accordance with internationally recognised security standards. See our Security Statement for more technical details.

We retain ownership of our systems and software, but you retain full rights to the data you input.

USE OF COOKIES

MyHelper uses cookies to streamline your login and improve the functionality of the platform. We may also use tools like Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics.

You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser. Declining cookies may affect functionality.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any major changes will be announced by email. You are encouraged to review this policy periodically.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

MyHelper (Pty) Ltd cannot be held liable in any way, shape, or form for:

• Data inaccuracies entered by users
• Loss, damages, or claims resulting from reliance on incorrect or outdated user-entered data
• Breaches caused by compromised user credentials

Users are responsible for safeguarding their login details and ensuring accurate data input.
